Thanksgiving Goodness (updated)

(Video of the ride is now on the VodPod to the right of this post.)

Buckets of mud, 20+ riders, at least 5 witnessed crashes, 2 broken chains and one flat (that I know of) = Goodness.

Huge props to this crew.  On a group ride those broken chains and flat tires WILL HAPPEN to us some day.  It was nice to see the camaraderie and patience.

Knee warmer mud line competition:

Thanksgiving Day Ride

Join Us:

This is where a bunch of locals decided to ride their mtb’s, work up an appetite and celebrate good times on Thanksgiving.

20+ years this thing has been going on.

This is NOT a race. We stop and wait for everyone at pre-determined spots on the trail. We talk bikes, beer, women (it’s really just Dewald sharing his exploits)  and other good stuff.  Oh yeah, here’s the occasional Mad Max moves and making fun of one another.

Rain or Shine so toughen up.

Park in the new lot at the top of Shed Road where it “T’s” into Rt 345 (chestnut road). French Creek State Park outside of Birdsboro, PA. Address is Elverson, PA.

Meet at 9:00 and ride start 9:30 sharp. Ride gives you the option to ride anywhere between 30 minutes to two hours. It’s your call.

If you get hurt it’s your own fault. If you act like a jerk (or bring one) we will heckle you repeatedly.

Mercer USGP

What a nice weekend:  B&B time with Jill and the dogs, no pressure/pure fun singlespeed racing at the Mercer USGP, seeing many many friends and scoring these cool plaques.

Scooby likes them too.

Lion of Flanders

Nice gear from a great guy.  He’ll be at the Mercer this weekend, if he’s sober he’ll probably be selling stuff. also sponsored “Mexican Night” at Fifth Street this week.  Yum. socks

BEACON Cyclocross Video w/Bummer

BEACON Cross is such a fun course.  I had a second row start (rare) but never capitalized.  Each minute of that hour was more painful than usual.  I should have known.  I wasn’t feeling right all week and yesterday’s effort pushed me over the edge.  Instead of getting the Cannondale ready for another day of cross racing I’m typing this post.  Such is life.

The good news: I was able to download, edit, edit, edit and post a video of the BEACON race.  It’s on the VodPod.

The bummer:  Today is my friends Mandy and Johnny’s wedding reception at the race. I more sad to miss this than the actual race.

So from a laptop in my house: “A toast to ya!!!”

Wait a minute.  I think I missed the Bachelor Party?!

Bachelor Party Blues

Or maybe I didn’t?  My head reallllly hurts right now.
